Trying to keep track of your book stock can be tricky. Some of it is in your bookshop, some is stored in a warehouse, some might even be out on loan or a ‘sale or return’ order.
If you have any kind of stock outside of your premises, then you’ll benefit from our exhibition and SOR module.
This exhibition module for warehouses allows you to track any stock that is owned by your business but has been taken to an exhibition, is out on consignment or is out on loan. The idea is that this stock still exists and will eventually be returned, it’s just not in its usual place.
This module seamlessly links with our standard warehouse invoicing module so you can easily convert the catalogues or ‘sale or return’ orders to invoices.
The exhibition module allows you to:
Convert the catalogue lists to customer orders or sale/return orders assigned to a specific customer
Track the stock using an “on exhibition” indicator on the stock enquiry screen
Produce standard invoicing documents for sale or return consignments.
‘Sale or return’ is where items are sold to a retailer or bookseller but on the premise that any unsold items will be returned. So it may look something like this:
The stockist/bookseller places a wholesale order and pays in full for every item (proforma)
The order is processed and shipped to the stockist to be displayed/sold in their bookshop
The bookseller tries to sell as many copies as they can, but they have some remaining unsold stock
After a pre-agreed time frame, such as 30 days, the bookseller will package up the items to be returned
These items will be checked over for damage by the wholesaler, before a refund is given (usually in the form of a credit note).
Booksolve.net has been broken down into modules to make it a bespoke system that can work for a number of businesses. These modules include stock control for warehouses, invoicing, EDI and exhibition.
